The boys and I visited the mall Thursday to run an errand (and let them play in the play area). Santa was already set up and accepting lap-sitters, and all the trees and wreaths were decorated to the full. We walked into the mall and Hamilton exclaimed, "It's getting very 'Chris-me' in here!" He then said that exact phrase a dozen more times for the two hours we spent playing, eating, and shopping in the mall.
Mr. Morgan captured a cute video of Hamilton talking about a big storm we had last week. Hamilton employs his usual storytelling tactic of inserting random bits of information, repeating favorite sounds and words, and talking incessantly in one long run-on sentence.

Beating the Heat
We spent another morning at the pool, as it's been our custom these past few weeks. Charleston is simply too hot for much else these days. Hamilton was feeling much better today, and after two weeks of swimming lessons, his new nickname is Nemo. He loves to dramatically take a breath, dive his face into the water, and kick his legs with all his might. He swims a few feet--from me to the steps, from the wall to me, wherever. He loves it.
Collier's also loving the water, but he has to be held or watched intensely. So swimming with two water-loving boys is a full-time job. This morning we met lots of friends at the pool, so I had a little help at times from other moms.
After Hamilton's day of feeling a bit under the weather, he spent much of this afternoon throwing the biggest fit he's ever thrown in his life. Maybe this is why they call them the terrible threes? Somehow I had patience for his episode, but it was different and new for me to see. I might rethink some punishments and lectures because I know I can't handle that strong of a fit often.

Friday
We're enjoying beautiful, 70-degree weather here today! Mr. Morgan came home early from work this afternoon, and we've sat outside on the porch with the doors open most of the afternoon. Hamilton loves the openness of the house, and he's taken full advantage by going inside then outside then back inside, dragging his toys behind him. I'm thankful for the pleasant outlook for this long weekend's weather. Maybe we'll even get some yard work started.
A special, Mr. Morgan-requested lasagna is in the oven, and we're putting Hamilton to bed soon. We'll be able to spend time together and have a special dinner with adult conversation, which is overdue since we didn't really do much for Valentine's Day. Here's to the start of a great weekend!
